Costume Hunting Failure

I went to Goodwill with some friends last weekend to find things for Halloween.
I'm somehow not surprised by the fact that I came home with no Halloween items and just a bunch of nice clothes...

Vintage Diamond Print Dress, $4

Target Maxi Skirt, $3.50

Anthropologie Crepe Top, $3.50

Vintage Polka Dot Dress, $4

Target Print Top, $3.50

Print Gathered Front Dress, $4

NWT Old Navy Brocade Pencil Skirt, $3.50
I bought the long polka dot dress to alter, mainly because I'm sort of obsessed with navy polka dot prints. We'll see how that goes.

Also, along the lines of my failure to actually get anything Halloween related, I still have no idea what to be. Any ideas? What are you dressing up as?

Have a wonderful Friday!

  1. I'm considering a Greek Goddess but I'm not sure yet! Totally on the same page with not knowing what to be

    1. Goddess/toga costumes are the best. I think that's a good safe choice. :)

  2. Um so I had an identical navy polka dot dress in high school.Geez that makes me feel old. :)
Not dressing up this year, but last year I was a Frenchwoman. Striped top, black skinnies, ballet flats and a beret. Easy peasy. :)
    Good luck finding something. :)

    1. Frenchwoman sounds like such a great idea! I love it. I may have to resort to that sometime when I need a quick classy costume!

  3. I'm sure you can alter your finds in some way for Halloween ;) I don't really celebrate though, I'm the kind of person who prefers staying indoors and ignoring the bell haha.

    1. Haha well yesterday was so cold I didn't have any motivation to dress up! This weekend I have a party to go to though, so I'll have to come up with something. But agreed, staying indoors is probably a smart move.

  5. could you please share what thrift shops you go to to find such great deals? I often have luck at the GoodWill- but the prices aren't nearly as good as the ones you seem to find!

    1. I just go to Goodwill as well, I think it just depends on the particular store! I've heard that in NY they sell items by the pound and it's even cheaper that what I can find!

  6. I'm dressing up as Clara Bow for a Halloween party tonight. My hair's in rollers as we speak. That vintage diamond print dress you found is super cute!
